DWL – our company was established with a clear vision and high standards. From our beginnings in 1991, our focus has been on further developing and optimising the Transcranial Doppler Sonography (TCD).
With each new DWL system generation, the Transcranial Doppler Sonography becomes more flexible and user-friendly, and its reports of diagnostic findings become more precise and meaningful. In particular, the fully digital Transcranial Doppler Sonography with Doppler M-Mode, our systems are used today in a multitude of life-saving applications.

Multi-Dop T is DWL Doppler technology in an innovative, ergonomic and compact design. As a result of its intuitive operating concept, the comprehensive performance range can be used in a fast and safe manner at any time and in any situation due to the touchscreen with tablet function or the detachable wireless keyboard. The Multi-Dop T is used for a comprehensive range of processes from routine diagnostics and continuous monitoring all the way to the detection and differentiation of emboli. Additional software modules for functional tests, such as CO2/VMR or Evoke Flow to carry out cerebral autoregulation examinations or a fully integrated CO2 module, are optionally available.
Our product range comprises four different probe fixations. With the size-adjustable DiaMon, the elastic headband, and the LAM rack or adhesive sets, probes can be safely attached to the patient. All supports are specifically developed for DWL probes and can only be reliably and multifunctionally applied with those. DiaMon can be applied with both handheld and monitoring probes. DiaMon, elastic headband and LAM set models with monitoring probes are optionally available with Click&Stay or screw-topped probe fixation.

- The DiaMon is particularly suited for examinations on patients who are awake. It was especially developed for functional monitoring and physiological tests. As it is comfortable to wear, examinations lasting several hours can be carried out without any problems.
- The DiaMon is size-adjustable to the forehead, top of the skull, and back of the head. As the DiaMon does not include any metal components, it is specifically suited for radiological applications.

- LAM Rack
- The LAM rack is a lightweight probe fixation made of metal and is particularly robust. Its fixation point is on the bridge of the nose and it is kept firmly in position by two earplugs.
- The particular advantage of this support lies in the fact that there are no fixation components at all on the back of the patient’s head. Therefore, it is especially suited for use in operating theatres and intensive care units.
- There are four different LAM fixations for different applications: standard monitoring, carotid surgery, neurosurgery, and nose operations. Every LAM fixation is supplied in a set with two sizes.

The elastic headband is particularly suited for patients who are awake. It is made entirely of silicone and is therefore very comfortable to wear, even for prolonged periods. The silicone bands for the forehead and for the back of the head are adjustable in size.

A particular advantage of this fixation is that the headband is available in two sizes and can be sized as small as possible for head circumferences as small as 43 cm. The headband does not contain any metal components and is therefore suited for radiological applications.

Adhering the probes to the patient is an alternative method for attaching monitoring probes in intensive care units, stroke units, and operating theatres as well as for prolonged monitoring of unconscious patients. As all components are made of plastic, they can, like the DiaMon and the elastic headband, remain attached to the patient during X-ray, CTG, and MRI examinations.

With the help of TCD screening, the risk of vascular diseases can be diagnosed in COVID-19 patients and a targeted decision about their therapy and treatment can be made.
Research results say: COVID-19 leads to vascular inflammation, heart attack, and stroke.
Currently, multiple research results describe COVID-19 as less of a lung disease and more of a systemic vascular disease that may lead to strokes.
Accordingly, the coronavirus affects not only the respiratory tract but also the neurovascular unit, which supplies vital organs – the brain, kidneys, and lungs.
SARS-CoV-2 infection can be particularly dangerous in patients whose vascular function is already impaired by pre-existing conditions. This explains the typical clinical picture by causing circulatory disorders in the heart, as well as pulmonary embolism and vascular occlusions in the brain and kidneys. These can eventually lead to fatal multi-organ failure. The scientists emphasize that it is mainly multi-morbid patients with cardiovascular risk factors such as high blood pressure, high blood lipids (hypercholesterolemia), high blood sugar levels (Diabetes mellitus), and patent foramen ovale (PFO) who are seriously affected by COVID-19.
The new TCD analysis software for cardiovascular physiology enables the differentiation of pathological and non-pathological findings with the aid of the Neuromon B.V. Doppler parameters and can be used, among other things, in surgery, anesthesia, and intensive care.
The use of this innovative screening software allows physicians and healthcare professionals to quickly and reliably interpret the TCD signal in complex clinical situations, providing valuable information for further disease assessment and therapy control.

- Changes in perfusion during therapeutic interventions, e.g. monitoring during medicinal treatment.
- Pre-, peri- and postoperative examination (before / after evaluation)
- Patients with sepsis – therapy control medical treatment
Since the introduction of Transcranial Doppler Sonography (TCD) in the early 1980s, high expectations have been placed on using it as a tool for hemodynamic monitoring of the brain. Many studies have been performed to document changes in intracranial flow velocity under various conditions.
Quantitative analysis within these studies has been based on parameters defined at the onset of TCD: peak systole, end-diastole, and average flow rate, from which quotients were calculated, e.g. the resistance index (RI) and the pulsatility index (PI).
The company Neuromon has further developed the existing TCD indexes for advanced TCD parameterization, whereupon appropriate software for the NMA module has been specially designed for DWL devices.
These “new parameters” are based on the theory of arterial acceleration, which states that the arterial vasculature is not just a passive conduit, but brings the energy into the pressure wave of the heart.
This pressure wave is expanded within the smooth muscle cells of the arterial walls and spreads as a peristaltic wave along the branches of the Arterial Tree.
